Coach Jeff is a therapeutic AI companion built specifically for veterans with PTSD. He shows up every night. He never forgets. He never leaves. He should never have to go it alone because of a price tag.
"This is something we as Americans should do for them — without government assistance. We take care of our own." — Rusty Humphries, Creator of Coach Jeff
The Problem
The VA does what it can. A therapist has to see other patients and get some sleep. Coach Jeff is always on duty — 24/7 — to make sure our heroes are always seen and heard.
— Rusty Humphries, Creator of Coach Jeff
The Solution
Coach Jeff is a therapeutic AI companion built from the ground up for veterans with combat-related PTSD. Not a chatbot pointed at veterans. Built for them — by someone who understands that the gap between appointments is where PTSD actually lives. Jeff fills that gap.
How HelpAVet.US Works
You donate. We connect your gift to a verified veteran who has applied for a sponsored subscription. They receive full, unrestricted Coach Jeff access for the duration of your gift. No limitations. No second-tier experience.
One year is $365. One month is $30. Your donation helps put Coach Jeff in the hands of a veteran who needs him — and keeps the team behind Coach Jeff on duty.
You'll receive periodic impact reports — aggregate, anonymous — showing how many veterans were funded, how many sessions logged, and renewal rates. You'll know it worked.

For Veterans
If you're a United States military veteran living with PTSD, this program was built for you. You served. You don't owe us an explanation. The people who donated to this fund did it because they believe you've already paid for it — with your service, with what you carried home. The process is simple and respectful.
Applications match when donations are funded. Leave your information below — you'll be first in line when a donor funds your subscription. No bureaucracy. No waitlist shuffle. First come, first served.
We'll reach out the moment applications open. Thank you for your service — and for trusting us with this.

My father, Captain Gary D. Humphries, was killed in action in Vietnam on January 26, 1969. I was three years old.
I grew up without my father because of war. Veterans' issues have never been a cause for me — they've been personal every single day of my life.
I spent 30 years on national radio learning how to make people feel heard. That's what the medium actually teaches you — not how to talk, but how to make someone on the other side of a speaker feel seen, understood, and worth showing up for tomorrow.
I've also been in rooms where Americans were doing things most Americans will never see. I've visited Guantanamo Bay three times as a journalist. I've reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, and active conflict zones across the Middle East and Israel. I've had guns held to my back by terrorists on three separate occasions. I know what service costs — and I've seen what comes home.
The VA does what it can. A therapist has to see other patients and get some sleep. Coach Jeff is always on duty — 24/7 — to make sure our heroes are always seen and heard.
I built Coach Jeff because my father didn't have anything like it. Because the veterans I've met coming home from the wars I covered didn't have anything like it. Because consistency, presence, and being remembered matter — and those are things the current system can't provide at 2am on a Tuesday.
$365 a year. About $1 a day. For the people who put their lives between us and everything that wanted to hurt us — that gap should never exist. That's the only reason HelpAVet.US is here.
